Royston Turquoise Pendant

A vibrant blue square Royston Turquoise set into a square sand casted backing with lines emanating out. Light brown to dark ombré matrix in the bottom left corner and a sections of very clear blue throughout with a beautiful fading matrix in between. One polished bezel comes out from the centre, and the rest of the piece is naturally textured. 

The Royston family has claims all over Nevada, and a Royston Turquoise comes from this family of artisan polishers and heritage miners. They specialize in high quality stones and cabochons, where the matrix greatly compliments the turquoise itself. 

Sand casting is a very old method of casting using special sand, and a shaped object to make jewelry. The artist creates a carved form to create an impression in the sand, the form is then removed to create a hollow and metal is then poured in, creating a one of a kind piece of jewellery with unique textures.
