Green Royston Turquoise Pendant

This large pendant features a vibrant blue green Turquoise in an abstract sand casted form. The turquoise lays in the centre square of the pendant, with a circle above and below. All sections are etched around the edges with the essence of carvings from a time past. The stone features a light tan matrix, with blue green to the left, fading to dark green and almost black on the upper right side. 

The Royston family has claims all over Nevada, and a Royston Turquoise comes from this family of artisan polishers and heritage miners. They specialize in high quality stones and cabochons, where the matrix greatly compliments the turquoise itself. 

Sand casting is a very old method of casting using special sand, and a shaped object to make jewelry. The artist creates a carved form to create an impression in the sand, the form is then removed to create a hollow and metal is then poured in, creating a one of a kind piece of jewellery with unique textures.
