WANDERGROUND

YASU | SILVERSMITH
The journey of WANDERGROUND began in the highlands of San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico—a region deeply rooted in Mayan heritage. It was here that Yasu first learned the art of silversmithing under the guidance of a Mexican and Argentine couple.
After refining his craft in Taxco, Mexico’s legendary “City of Silver,” Yasu spent several years embracing a nomadic life. Traveling across Mexico, Canada, and the United States in a van, he migrated along the West Coast with the changing seasons. During this time, he became a regular attendee of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in Arizona, where he immersed himself in the rich cultures and desert landscapes of Arizona and New Mexico.
After years on the road, he officially launched WANDERGROUND in British Columbia, Canada, sharing his creations at mineral shows, festivals, and farmers' markets. Every piece is a reflection of his travels—a fusion of raw beauty and the stories gathered while wandering the earth.
-Our traceability-
We are also deeply committed to traceability. Yasu personally hand-selects each gemstone, working exclusively with stones whose origins are known and verifiable. By using traceable minerals—sourced directly from miners at events like the Tucson Gem Show or from trusted, long-term partners—we ensure that our jewelry not only honors the earth’s natural beauty but also respects the people and environments from which it came.
