River of Turquoise Series #2 | Earrings
Oxidized black Royston Ribbon turquoise earrings with a 10k gold accent at the bottom. A grey and brown matrix and a river of green blue turquoise that changes in intensity travels down the oval form. Black backings of oxidized silver, stamp work around the earring. Intentionally antique.
Royston Ribbon Turquoise is genuine unstabilized Turquoise in matrix. It was cut by members of the same family that owns and works the claims in Royston, Nevada. This mine was primitively unearthed by a shepherd in the '70's accidentally onto a vein of turquoise on the slope. Usually, the turquoise emerges in ribbons or stripes. The stone is shaped by artisans based on the natural flow of turquoise and matrix to make a sort of ribbon flow along the final cabochon.
~Included with the earrings are surgical stainless steel hooks, the same material used in surgical implants. It has a lower rate of allergic reactions than sterling silver.~
